I have given Bittersweet three stars because its park is never set up logically. The features are in poor shape. They build jumps that neglect to consider physics (not in a good way).
Had a great time on Sweet Pea with the kids. Tom, the lifty, is the greatest; He's encouraging, always ready to help, and the kids love the regular "high five" as we make our laps. The heated patio is the best place to take a few minutes around the camp fire and warm up with some hot cocoa.
They do such a nice job here. I come from Grand Rapids to here and I love the amount of different runs and routes they have here. The main lift gets to the top of the hill quickly also. Lounge/cafeteria is pretty nice also. The terrain park is sweet it awesome rails and jumps.
I love Bittersweet but I am frequently disappointed with the park experience.
Bittersweet is a great family friendly place to ski/snowboard for the day. The high speed lift makes lapping the short hill much more bearable. It allows you to get more runs in and is more comfortable. There are a variety of run pitches too. Generally the staff is friendly and helpful... other than park crew.
I have been going here since I was a child. Its great to see that management continues to reinvest money back into this business. They have made many improvements over the years. It would be nice if they had more year round activities like a bowling alley, lodging, and swimming pool. Just saying...
what makes this a great place to ski is although it is in lower Michigan, the lifts are fast and i like how all the lifts take you to the top so you can pick your runs/hill once at the top. a great bar too, surprisingly good for a smaller ski resort. they have also clean restrooms, well maintained.
